I've been birdwatching in the hills around Valladolid since I was a boy. Today I take small groups to see lowland forest birds, cenotes and the Río Lagartos coast, where flamingos and herons gather. We leave at dawn, walk slowly, and I lend you binoculars if you don't have any. When we finish I give you a list of the species we saw. I work in Spanish and English and I also know the birds' names in Maya.
